Therapy and Toys

Infants who are born preterm or other risk factors for developmental delays benefit from starting targeted intervention in the first weeks of life.  Preterm infants can ask for physical or occupational therapy in the neonatal intensive care unit but in most cases it is crucial that care continues during the first few months at home.  The Supporting Play Exploration and Early Development Intervention (SPEEDI) is an evidence based intervention designed for infants in the neonatal intensive care unit or in the first 6 months of post term age. Learn more about how you can use SPEEDI with your infant, in your clinical therapy practice, or in your NICU.
